In his two terms, President Bush was able to appoint two anti-choice judges to the Supreme Court. The now anti-choice court could undermine or overturn Roe v. Wade.
This is dangerous news to all U.S. women, but especially so for Wisconsin women. Wisconsin has a law on the books that states that abortions are a crime. If Roe is overturned, this law states that both doctors who provide abortions and the women who procure them could face prosecution.
Wisconsin women must take action against the possible repeal of Roe v. Wade, as we can no longer trust the federal government to protect our right to a safe and legal abortion. If we create a Roe of our Own, we can guarantee that Wisconsin women are protected even if the federal law falls.
