The short explanation of this alert was:
This week, anti-choice Senate leaders, led by Majority Leader Frist and his sidekick Sen. Rick Santorum, are forcing votes on three of Bush’s worst nominees: Carolyn Kuhl, Priscilla Owen, and Janice Rogers Brown.
It’s no coincidence that all three nominees are women—it’s actually part of their strategy to put pressure on pro-choice Senators, who have successfully filibustered several of Bush’s most extreme nominees. Apparently, President Bush’s allies believe that highlighting three anti-choice nominees who happen to be women will make people forget the President’s anti-choice record. Send a message today to your Senators to show that you oppose ANY nominee who opposes privacy and a woman’s right to choose.
