The Modify School Health Education Program bill to provide responsible, accurate sex education in North Carolina would have changed our current state law to require school districts to teach not only abstinence, but also contraception, HIV/STD prevention and education, and sexual assault risk reduction. The bill would have also required that these subjects be taught in a medically and factually accurate way.

Please contact your legislators and tell them how disappointed you are that this bill was not heard, and urge them to support this legislation next session.
